“We are so incredibly impressed by Kris’s work. We bought a 1920 golden aged Steinway that has been sitting there for years and needed to have some tender loving care and some cleaning, tuning, regulation and voicing done to restore its past glory. We are completely blown away by how it sounds after Kris’s restoration on this piano, it’s sounds so much louder and crisp, with rich bass tone and the signature bell-like sound of the Steinway treble. it’s like a new piano!🤩 Also Kris was very patient with me asking him a gazillion questions and walked me through every step of the way. I learned so much about how pianos work and tips for proper maintenance from Kris as well. The cost was very reasonable, scheduling was a bliss (no extensive waitlist like some other piano tuners in town), and the quality of work is incredible. “When considering the efforts of Kris Hammond, the first word that comes to mind is ... wow!
I have my mother's 30-year-old semi-grand piano that hadn't been tuned in at least 15-20 years. Additionally, it had been through 3 house moves in the past decade. To say that it needed help would be an understatement: It was dusty, and considerably out-of-tune.
Kris Hammond showed-up on time with a smile on his face and pleasant demeanor. It was easy to see his enthusiasm. He immediately set upon raising the pitch followed by an extensive and thorough cleaning and lubricating of the interior. After 3 hours of care and cleaning he then began to tune my prized possession.
It was a long and arduous process, but the piano has been returned to its original glory both in terms of looks, and sound. I cannot wait to play it during the holidays!
